BBC Look East
On 27, Sep 2011 | No Comments | In news / blog | By Richard
We’re all very pleased today here in the studio, we have two of our music videos in the BBC Music Video Festival currently being held in Norwich, Alasdair and Jocks video for Clinic called Bubblegum, and Layla and Grigoris’s video for Elbow in which they collaborated with the fantastic Oliver East. What make’s today all the more fun was that Richard our producer got called in to do an interview yesterday, being a Norfolk boy himself, they thought it was appropriate to ask him a few questions, thankfully all about making music videos and what they mean to Trunk. Look at his little face!

The Festival runs till the 1st of October and the BBC have set screens up in 20 Towns and Cities across the UK, take a look. http://bbcmusicvideofestival.tumblr.com/
Karma Chameleon

We’ve just been working with design company OWM&M and web designers Tektonik to create the launch website for engine manufacturer Cummins’ Euro 6 Project. Layla designed the characters and animation for the front page of the site which randomly plays loops of a chameleon and some fish. Animation was by Aaron Lampert. Below you can see Layla’s original chameleon sketch and the character worked up and coloured in flash. You can see the site in action here
Animation was by Aaron Lampert.

The Graham Chapman Project- Update
On 05, Aug 2011 | No Comments | In Home, news / blog | By Layla
Here’s a link to a little piece about Trunk by the Graham Chapman Project guys. We’re probably just over halfway through animating our 7 minute section. It’s a LOT of hand drawn animation, so far we’ve gobbled up four animators and 6- yes SIX interns. Yum yum.
Where have we been?

Blimey, it’s been ages since our last post, i’d love to say we have been off sunning ourself on golden sands but we haven’t, we’ve been sitting up in the studio toiling away in the heat and growing this year’s crop of tomatoes on our little balcony. We’re working on two big projects at the moment, ones of them is the Monty Python project the other is for a bona fide international superstar, oooooh exciting!. Got deadlines a-plenty approaching in september so it’s all under wraps until then, in the mean time here are a few lovely images we made for a pitch which came and went. In the next few days i’ll also post a few little jobs we’ve bee

n doing on the side.
Wild pianos stalk the streets

Here’s the handy work of Phoebe Halstead one of our brilliant interns on the Chapman 3D project. She’s designed and painted up two pianos for the City of London festival’s Street Pianos programme. This lovely fella will be on Hampstead Heath from the 27th of June to the 17th of July and is free for anyone to play. What a great idea, there’s more information here.

Here’s a great article in the New York Times about the Chapman 3d project we are currently working on. Our sequence is well under way and is looking good so far. Meanwhile our studio’s filling up with homoerotic designs, lovely.

Zac Brown Band | Knee Deep
On 16, Jun 2011 | No Comments | In Home, news / blog | By Layla
Here’s a still from Alasdair and Jock latest job, an animated backdrop for the award-winning Zac Brown Band at this year’s CMT Awards. The band performed their song “Knee Deep” against the simple backdrop which complemented the physical set built for the band. Rok Predin took the backdrop into 3d to add a cloth effect when it unfurled across the five huge screens behind the band and continues to waft gently throughout the song.
The work was commissioned by Sam Pattinson at Treatment studios and was turned around in under a week.
Goodies

Here’s our latest job. It’s a commercial for the healthy children’s food brand Goodies directed and animated by Mirrorshade. We took the Goodies character illustrations by Caroline Jayne Church and put them into a colourful magical world. In keeping with the illustration style we kept the animation style very simple and unfussy. We are particularly pleased with this as it marks our first collaboration with the good folks over at Park Village. Also a historical meeting of two Richards took place at the voice over session where our Richard got to meet his long-term idol Richard Briers.
