A Jenius interlude

Besides our charming and super-duper team of 2d animators, we got to work with composer Adem Ihlan on our Jenius films. He did an absolutely brilliant job, composing many different musical scores within some tight schedules. Our relationship with Adem goes way back into the mists of time…to 2005 when we made a video for his track “We Are Your Friends”. It was great to work with Adem again, he’s not changed a bit.

Our directors Pete Mellor and Layla Atkinson plus illustrator Spencer Wilson have been working all year on a series of lovely little films to explain “Jenius”, the brilliant new Indonesian banking app. Jenius is a great bit of kit which allows you to control all aspects of your financial life from your phone. We’ll be posting a selection of these films over the next few days. This was a fabulous project to work on as we crewed-up with big bunch of lovely and talented 2d animators. Plus, we got to meet and party with some charming Indonesians. Here’s the first film, “Dream Saver” which shows how Jenius can help you save for a treat, however big….or small.

Finally we can show you the fruits of our craft-based labours this summer. It’s the music video for folk legend Shirley Collins’ new single “Pretty Polly”. The album “Lodestar” marks the return of Shirley Collins after a break of 38 years. The video is the result of hundreds of hours of painting, drawing, inking, cutting, problem-solving and idea-wrangling. Shot on 16mm film this was lovingly created and directed by Layla Atkinson with enormous help and collaboration from the marvellous John Harmer and Jock Mooney with further support from Richard Barnett, Rebecca Manley, Garry Rutter, Pete Ellmore and a cast of thousands. A big “cheers” to everyone involved.
