dunwich dynamo2009

I rode the dunwich dynamo on saturday evening/sunday morning, it’s an all-night cycle ride from hackney out to the beach at dunwich in suffolk, a knee-shredding 120 miles, we did it in 10 hours. you should’ve seen the state of me when i got home, i slept for almost 24 hours with short breaks for beans on toast. thanks to all the other riders for making it so brilliant especially my team mates ben, karl and lucy plus the wonderful sophie, joey and fi for looking after us so well and feeding us bacon sandwiches when we got to dunwich. it was amazing to ride through the dead of night following a trail of blinking red bike lights, to ride through the sun set and sun rise and to finally smell the sea when we were near the end.

now i must tend to my aching parts.
